(The story)

A self-assured young man challenges the world. Along the way he meets his own reflection — pride, temptation, anger and despair confront him as figures on stage. A blind girl guides him through every trial. When he finally falls, she returns: not as a victim, but as his saviour.

Musically the piece goes where ballet rarely goes: a live rock band stands on stage and meets the symphonic score — a language of its own that carries the drama from restraint to total release. The dancing stands on classical technique, opened out into contemporary expression.

The evening is built for the big stage: a transformable set, costumes by couturier Igor Chapurin, a large ensemble — and a story that needs no translation. At the 2024 world premiere in Athens the lead was danced by Julian Mackay, soloist of the Bavarian State Ballet. Vienna sees the work exactly once.

Classical ballet technique joins contemporary dance. A live rock band on stage meets the symphonic score, forging a musical language of its own that carries the drama from restraint to release. Add costumes by couturier Igor Chapurin and a transformable set. At the 2024 world premiere in Athens, the lead was danced by Julian Mackay, soloist of the Bavarian State Ballet.
