(The story)
The piece rests on the historic Shirvan carpet, kept today in the Louvre. Hidden in its patterns is the story of a human destiny — a key to memory with the power to bring love back. What unfolds is an epic story of love: lost in war, found again in Vienna.
The staging travels from an oriental bazaar to turn-of-the-century Vienna: around 200 costumes, a transformable set, visual effects — and Vienna not as a backdrop but as the true protagonist, a place of memory, encounter and hope.
On stage: forty dancers and six children of the Astana Choreography Academy. The leads are danced by Tatiana Ten (trained at La Scala, Milan), Sundet Sultanov (laureate of the Benois de la Danse) and Natalia Fernandes Menes (Joffrey Ballet School New York). A vivid, sweeping evening — for ballet devotees and the whole family alike.
